"Use Government Phones": Trump Denies China Spies Listened To His iPhone
Chinese spies are reportedly listening to Trump's phone calls, with the goal of stopping trade war

According to a recent report from The New York Times, China and Russian Federation are regularly spying on President Trump when he opts to use his unsecured iPhone to call his friends.
While Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying did not directly address the snooping allegations, she told a briefing yesterday that "certain people in the USA are sparing no efforts to win the best screenplay award for the Oscars".
Hua added that if the United States was concerned about the security of Apple iPhones, they could switch to the Chinese brand Huawei.
Intelligence agency leaders and others have said they are concerned that Huawei and other Chinese companies may be beholden to the Chinese government or ruling Communist Party, raising the risk of espionage.
The Times report, which prompted fresh calls from Democrats to investigate the president's cellphone usage, said that Trump's aides have repeatedly warned him that his mobile calls are not secure, and they have told him that Russian spies are also routinely eavesdropping on the calls.
"I only use Government Phones, and have only one seldom used government cell phone".
Chinese spies are thought to be learning how Mr Trump can be swayed, and who is within his sphere of influence.
In a tweet, he insisted he only used government-approved phones.
As for President Trump, he reacted just as everyone expected by going to Twitter and calling the NYT report "soooo wrong".
"If they are still not at ease, then in order to have an entirely secure device, they can stop using all forms of modern communication devices and cut off all ties with the outside world", she said.
She then offered three recommendations to the Trump administration.
China, the officials said, is trying to glean how to manipulate the president to avoid making the trade war worse and has already compiled a list of people Mr. Trump often talks to. "All in all, we, by this time, are treating such material with humor".
Fox News reached out to the White House early Thursday to confirm elements of the report but did not immediately get a response.
The officials cited in The Times report said they were not overly anxious that Trump was spilling secrets on the calls.
In 2012, a U.S. congressional panel said Huawei and ZTE should be barred from any mergers and acquisitions because they posed a security threat to the US.
