Melania rounds off tour in Egypt

While wrapping up her first global tour as First Lady, Melania answered questions from reporters while sitting outside the pyramids in Giza, Egypt.

In Malawi, she went to Chipala Primary School in Lilongwe, where students sang their welcome to the first lady.

First lady Melania Trump visits the ancient statue of Sphinx, with the body of a lion and a human head, at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt on Saturday. She started her tour by arriving in Ghana earlier this week.

Seay insists that the valuable focus of a first lady could have been better applied in contexts that felt more representative of the triumphs and challenges of today's Africa.

This isn't the first time Trump has been discussed on social media for her style choices. That outwear is still a reference point for many comments on her attire.

Personally, I think the US First Lady's decision to wear a pith helmet is appropriate.

However, following reports of her husband, President Donald Trump describing some African countries as a "shithole" in February, Mrs Trump's visit could also be an attempt to build diplomatic relations.

As well as the national park, she visited an orphanage and watched a children's performance at the city's national theatre.

Melania Trump is getting a lot of attention over a hat she wore during her visit to Africa this week - and not in a good way. The first lady has had to grapple with that issue herself, given the multiple women who have accused her husband of sexually inappropriate behaviour, claims he says are false.

"That's very important what I do, what we're doing with USA aid and what I do with my initiatives and I wish people would focus on what I do, not what I wear", she said. "That we care and we want to show the world we care".

The first lady is visiting Africa on her first big solo global trip. Earlier in the day the former model stepped off a plane at Cairo global airport wearing high-waisted white trousers, a pleated white shirt and a black tie with a beige jacket.

She said her biggest achievement of the trip was "meeting people" and finding out about the "successful programmes that USAID is providing to the countries" that was "helping them on the journey to self reliance". The people love her, and she loves them!

Let's be honest, it's no "Let's Move" (Michelle Obama's initiative during her husband's time in office, tied to his national taskforce into childhood obesity). But the president twice has proposed slashing the agency's money. That being said, it seems like she is sick and exhausted of people worrying about her wardrobe.
