Investigators said two people were shot to death before Katz turned the gun on himself.

Authorites reported Sunday night three bodies were found at the scene, nine victims were being treated at hospitals for gunshot wounds, while two others were injured trying to escape the shooting scene.

"The Los Angeles Times reports that the Jacksonville shooting suspect was allegedly one of the competitors in the video game tournament". Gunfire could be heard before the stream was cut short.

A tweet by National Football League team Buffalo Bills two years ago shows a picture of a man named David Katz holding up a t-shirt that says "Madden champ", with the caption: "Congrats to David Katz, the Madden 17 Bills Championship victor!"

While a motive behind this insane act of violence has not been released, a Madden competitor claimed Katz, who was known as "RavenChamp" and "Bread" in the gaming circles, had been disqualified from the tournament earlier in the day.

The sheriff said Katz was attending the tournament in Florida. During the press conference, Williams also said Katz used an "after market" laser sight, which was seen pointed at Clayton in a Twitch clip of the shooting.

The suspected shooter has been identified as gamer David Katz, of Baltimore, who won the tournament in 2016.

Williams, who did not initially give specific numbers of the dead and wounded, said "multiple" people were killed and wounded.

An FBI official in Baltimore has confirmed that agents are searching the family home of the man authorities believe is behind the deadly shooting.

In a post-game interview following his win, Katzs face could be described as emotionless, while his eyes wander from looking at the floor to around the room. Police say Katz used a hand gun in the attack and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have raided the man's family home in Baltimore, Maryland, in an effort to finally confirm his identity.

"He stuck up for other people, That he was kindhearted, that he was a joy to be on our campus", said Catherine Foss. "Im leavinng and never coming back", he wrote at 1:37 p.m. Clayton was entering the second round of the tournament when shots began to fire. Numerous participants at the event have competed together throughout the years, traveling as a "circuit" to each qualifying and main event in the lead-up to larger events.
