A lot of the transfer talk at Old Trafford in the past 24 hours has been about Paul Pogba and a potential move to Barcelona, but boss Jose Mourinho has also been dealt a blow in the chase for a new defender.

Barca are said to have seen a bid involving towering defender Mina, midfielder Andre Gomes and around £45million rejected for a player that has had his ups and downs with manager Mourinho.

The financial penalty consists of two weeks' wages for the 26-year-old goalkeeper, who is thought to be on a £100,000-per-week deal.

Links to World Cup star Harry Maguire persist but Leicester's reluctance to sell is clear with the deadline looming large.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reported earlier Monday that Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, had travelled to England to negotiate his client's exit, with Barcelona and Juventus preferred destinations.

It adds that another of Raiola's clients, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti is wanted by United. Pogba, a key member of the French team that won the World Cup in Russian Federation last month, was part of United's youth set-up but, short of first-team opportunities, opted to join Juventus in 2012. They have been linked with a move for Grealish for some time, with The Sun now reporting chairman Daniel Levy has finally lodged a bid for the 22-year-old.

The World Cup victor is said to have grown disillusioned with life under Jose Mourinho, which has sparked interest from the La Liga champions - though time is likely to save United's blushes with less than 48 hours until the end of the window.

Striker Romelu Lukaku showed his all-round quality in Belgium's run to third place at the finals and proved he can offer more than being just a battering ram target. "He's a star", said Pogba.

Paul Pogba has scored five goals in 23 Premier League matches in the last season.

Although Pogba wanted to leave, he also did not intend to ever go to war with his club over it either.

However, neither Manchester United or PSG are likely to allow their players to leave.
