President Trump takes shot at LeBron in tweet

In an interview with Mr. Lemon on CNN, Mr. James said he feels that the president is "using sports to kinda divide us".

In an interview that aired Monday on CNN, James repeated a point he has made before that he believes Mr. Trump is using sports to divide Americans.

Trump didn't take well to the reference in the CNN interview, and decided in turn to insult LeBron's intelligence. James also talked about social issues and Trump's comments about sports in the past.

In a tweet, Trump took aim at two of his regular critics, James and cable TV news personality Don Lemon. "Going to White House was a great honour until you showed up!"

James, a newly minted Los Angles Laker, three-time NBA Finals MVP and double Olympic gold medalist, said the school opening made Monday perhaps the greatest day of his life.

Queried on what he'd say to Trump if they were face to face, he was quick to say, "I would never sit across from him". James called Trump a "bum" after the president rescinded his invitation to the White House for the 2017 Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry after the former MVP said he wouldn't go, despite the tradition of members of championship teams doing so. The school opened with a group of third- and fourth-graders, but will expand to serve first through eighth grades by 2022.

Trump has repeatedly and strongly criticized the NFL in particular for not punishing players who kneel during the national anthem in a form of protest.

James did not hold back on his thoughts about Trump during his interview with Lemon.

The President ended his tweet with the seemingly unrelated exclamation of "I like Mike!" By the way, all-around he's better than Michael Jordan. Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham told James to "shut up and dribble", which led to James writing "I am more than an athlete" on his basketball shoes before an NBA game. He responded, "I don't think so", until Lemon brought up Trump as a possible opponent.

LeBron has yet to speak out about Donald's latest slamming tweet but it will be interesting to see what he says, if anything!
