North Korea to return US soldiers' remains in weeks -Pompeo

Trump - no hurry on North Korea denuclearisation Trump says no 'time limit' on North Korea denuclearisation

USA officials have previously said it could take years to identify all the remains and to determine whether they are, in fact, Americans. That meeting did not materialize.

Speaking on CBS's Face the Nation shortly before Mike Pompeo, the U.S. secretary of state, flew to Pyongyang for the most recent round of discussions on the issue, Mr Bolton said "I am sure that ..." "We will be ready".

Russian Federation had invited North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to attend an economic forum in the city of Vladivostok in September. "Even if this takes time, (we) have to definitely achieve (that goal)".

However, the timing of the handover and the number of sets remains to be returned is still uncertain, in spite of two days of talks between USA and North Korean officials on Sunday and Monday, said the official, who did not want to be identified.

He said afterward there was no longer a nuclear threat from the North, though Kim agreed only to "work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula", and no detailed plan has been worked out.

The shipment of North Korean coal to Pohang could be valued at around $325,000, the report said.

The United States pushed through a series of UN resolutions a year ago that significantly escalated the pressure on North Korea's economy in response to Pyongyang's repeated tests to advance its nuclear weapons program.

As tensions between North Korea and the USA rose in 2017, senior diplomats and administration officials in Washington said diplomacy with North Korea was an option.

There is "no rush" on North Korean denuclearization for the U.S., at least according to Donald Trump... despite the earlier "maximum pressure" campaign, demanding that Pyongyang start the process "very quickly".

"The sanctions are remaining".

More than a month later, no concrete progress has been reported and North Korea has complained the Americans are making unilateral demands. He also criticized the central committee of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea for failing to fulfill their responsibility to achieve the regime's economic development projects.

By his "no time limit" statement, Trump seems to be making a U-turn on North Korean denuclearization, which the U.S. claims endangers its own security and that of its allies. The North sees this political objective as an essential element of ending what it calls Washington's hostile policy toward the North, which in turn is linked to its willingness to give up its nuclear weapons.

But critics said it only reiterated previous commitments and failed to lay out a timeline for denuclearization.
