Referring to May's Brexit proposals, Trump told the Sun, Britain's top-selling newspaper: "If they do a deal like that, we would be dealing with the European Union instead of dealing with the United Kingdom, so it will probably kill the deal".
"As a mother and as first lady, it concerns me that in today's fast-paced and ever-connected world, children can be less prepared to express or manage their emotions and oftentimes turn to forms of destructive or addictive behaviour such as bullying, drug addiction or even suicide", she said during a White House briefing to launch the three-pronged programme.
In an interview with Britain's Sun newspaper published late on Thursday, Trump said May's plans for a business-friendly Brexit would leave it too close to the European Union to allow a new trans-Atlantic trade deal to be struck.
On Thursday night, hundreds of demonstrators chanted outside the USA ambassador's residence where Trump was staying on the outskirts of London, providing a preview of the forceful protests expected on Friday.
The interview also touched on London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who Trump has criticized, including in the wake of apparent terrorist attacks on the UK's capital city.
"The spirit of friendship and cooperation between our countries, our leaders and our people, that most special of relationships, has a long and proud history", she said, adding that the United States was "not just the closest of allies but the dearest of friends".
Trump said Khan had done "a very bad job on terrorism" and said he had "not been hospitable to a government that is very important". "I think it changed the fabric of Europe and, unless you act very quickly, it's never going to be what it was and I don't mean that in a positive way".

The Trumps had earlier arrived at Stansted after a stormy North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Belgium. Trump attended the summit, where he provoked a crisis session to force allies to raise their defence spending.
Then, in a head-snapping pivot at the end, he declared the alliance a "fine-tuned machine" that had acceded to his demands to speed up increases in military spending to relieve pressure on the US budget.
Trump claimed member nations had agreed to boost their defense budgets significantly and reaffirmed - after days of griping that the USA was being taken advantage of by its allies - that the US remains faithful to the accord.
