In the midst of protests against the change in SC/ST act, yet another Dalit BJP Member of Parliament has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing the latter of having done "nothing" for Dalits in his four-year tenure.

BJP leaders were nearly forced out in 1977 and it was a case of political untouchability, he said.

"The Congress party is intolerant of the mandate given to (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi in 21 states", Union Parliamentary Minister Ananth Kumar told NDTV as he and other MPs marched across the parliament complex holding yellow posters and placards and shouting slogans.

The second half of Parliament's Budget Session, which came to a close on Friday, was not an ordinary session. He said that the people and Congress workers are under great stress due to discriminatory attitude of the government functionaries and asked the government to provide at least essential commodities to the needy and downtrodden.

This is nothing but "vote bank", appeasement, pleasing politics of Modi and Amit Shah-led BJP.

During the interaction, PM Modi will listen to the ideas of the party workers, and also discuss the schemes related to welfare of poor people. He interacted with workers of five Lok Sabhaconstituencies and all 734 district presidents of the party via video conference. Both Houses were adjourned sine die, capping a month of relentless disruptions and stated to be the least productive since 2000 with almost 250 working hours being wasted.

Earlier, Etawah Ashok Dohre, Savitri Bai Phule and Chhote Lal Kharwar, all MPs from BJP have echoed anti-Dalit sentiments propagated by the Central government. This is not because we made a mistake.

After demonetization and the implementation of Goods and Sales Tax (GST), employment has been badly hi, inflation has jacked up which has affect the livelihood of the common man, he said. "But today, we the Dalit MP's of BJP have to face our constituents and are unable to reply to their questions".

Speaking on the growth of the BJP since it was founded in 1980 by leaders of erstwhile Jana Sangh, which had merged with other opposition parties to form Janata Party in 1977 to challenge the then ruling Congress, the prime minister said it was the only party run democratically.

Mallikarjun Kharge, leader of the Congress in Lok Sabha, alleged that the government and its allies were "orchestrating" disruptions and blaming the Congress for them.
