A male gymnast has claimed disgraced ex-USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar sexually abused him, making him the first man to come forward.

In court papers filed in California, the gold medalist contends the sports federation knew or should have known that team doctor Larry Nassar was molesting her and other young athletes under the guise of medical treatment.

She also claims her psychological trauma includes "not trusting adult males".

Moore says in his lawsuit that Nassar applied "acupuncture in his pubic area and in and around his genitalia" and "pulled down Moore's trousers, exposing his genitalia" to a young female gymnast also present in the room. Once she realized his medical techniques were really sexual abuse, she felt "humiliation, guilt, shame and disgust".

A Title IX complaint was filed against Nassar in April 2014 by Amanda Thomashow, who said during Nassar's Ingham County sentencing hearing that he sexually abused her during an appointment.

She's suing for damages.

"After all this time, they remain unwilling to conduct a full investigation, and without a solid understanding of how this happened, it is delusional to think sufficient changes can be implemented", she said in a statement, according to NBC News.

Raisman's complaint states that Nassar abused her while she was training at the Karolyi Ranch National Training Center in Texas, and at competitions including the 2012 Olympics in London. The committee also has announced a series of reforms it is taking in the wake of the scandal, including more counseling for gymnasts impacted by Nassar's crimes, a review of the USOC's governance structure and "ensuring that athletes have a stronger voice within the USOC".

Aly Raisman testifies in court against Larry Nassar.

Moore's lawsuit claims that the incident occured in the basement of Nassar's home and in the presence of a female gymnast, who was also a minor.

"I refuse to wait any longer for these organizations to do the right thing".

In response to the lawsuit, USA Gymnastics released a statement to E!

In the filing, Aly said the group was "aware, at the highest levels of the organization" of Nassar's abuse, but did nothing to stop the abuse, the Today Show reports. She is one of the most decorated gymnasts in US history with a total of six Olympic medals, two team golds at world championships and 13 national championship medals. In a statement released Friday, she said she filed the lawsuit in the hopes "the legal process will hold them accountable and enable the change that is so desperately needed".
