The event was the Endeavour Fund Awards, which celebrates the achievements of wounded, injured and sick former service-personnel in the fields of sport and adventurous challenges.

Markle arrived to the Endeavour Fund Awards in London, UK, on Thursday night wearing a sleek black suit that was a surprise for those expecting her to wear an evening gown.

Meghan Markle has delivered her first royal speech months before she marries Prince Harry and becomes an official member of the royal family.

Giving speeches is one of Meghan Markle's areas of expertise.

An awkward silence followed as he then struggled to find the right script, looking helplessly at her. After a few seconds of struggle, he smiles, causing Meghan to smile as well, leaning in to see if she can help him out.

The audience cheered when they finally managed to announce the winners.

It's a favourite designer of her soon-to-be sister-in-law, Kate, who wore an Alexander McQueen wedding dress for her big day in 2011.

Meghan Markle is making her own style rules. She styled the look with a white Tuxe bodysuit (yes! an almost-princess in a bodysuit!) featuring a subtle pussy bow that we'd like to think was very much intentional and not a #Resistance coincidence at all.

Since Meghan and Harry announced their engagement at the end of November, the happy couple - who will marry at Windsor Castle on May 19 - have embarked on a number of royal engagements created to introduce Los Angeles-born Meghan, 36, to royal life.

People on the internet loved it.

The royal couple made their first public appearance together the same month, at the Invictus Games in Toronto.
