After making a remarkable turnaround in its electoral fortunes in neighbouring Gujarat late previous year, the Congress put up a muscular performance in Rajasthan where its candidates wrested Alwar and Ajmer Lok Sabha and Mandalgarh assembly seats from the BJP by impressive margins.

The Congress is all set to shock BJP in Rajasthan, which is being ruled by the Saffroan party.

For the BJP state chief, the loss seems to be a result of the failure on the BJP's part to communicate effectively about the work done by the party with the voters. Congress' Raghu Sharma was ahead of his nearest rival Ram Swaroop Lamba by 23,882 votes. "We will do a booth-wise analysis to understand the actual cause of our defeat", said Ashok Parnami, Rajasthan BJP chief.

Moreover, Alwar is adjacent to Haryana, Ajmer in central Rajasthan, while Mandalgarh is near Madhya Pradesh border. Congress candidate from Alwar, Karan Singh Yadav, has 1,72,535 votes.

The election results assume significance as Rajasthan will go to polls later this year. The bypolls were necessitated following the death of Sanwarlal Jat from Ajmer (Lok Sabha), Mahant Chand Nath Yogi from Alwar (Lok Sabha), and Kirti Kumari from Mandalgarh (Assembly). For a party that was wiped out in 2013 December assembly and drew a blank in the LS election in May 2014, these wins are huge signals that the Congress is on the mend and is back on road to power in north India. A total of 42 candidates are in the fray for the bypolls to the three seats.

His tweet read, "Well done Rajasthan Congress!"

She has secured 7,67,219 votes as against 2,93,018 votes bagged by the BJP candidate. He had garnered 520,434 votes, leaving behind Jaswant Singh Yadav of the BJP at 375,520 votes.

Meantime, Trinamool Congress won in two seats. While Ahmed polled 76,7219 votes, Mallick got 293,018. Congress lead by 22651 votes.
