Apple's Rumored 6.1-inch iPhone Won't Come With 3D Touch

The iPhone X may not be around once its replacements hit the market – here's why Apple's latest iPhone is facing two major crises this week

"And, Apple launched the new phones on a different schedule, announcing three new models at once, but delaying the launch of the most advanced and expensive one, iPhone X, for five weeks following the launch of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus".

First of all, a study over at ZDNet discovered that the iPhone X battery doesn't last almost as long as consumer had been led to believe. However, the release failed to excite as much as anticipated and has, since, struggled to achieve remarkable sales numbers. These forthcoming devices are said to give Apple a 10% sales growth by the end of the year.

Assuming Kuo is correct in his prediction, the 2018 iPhone line later this year will have a second gen iPhone X 5.8-inch device in the high-end slot expected to continue selling at the $999 price.

Apple has been rumoured to be stopping production on the iPhone X rather than reducing its price and reselling it when the next iPhone releases, with the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus presumably taking on that role.

KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted that the upcoming 6.1-inch iPhone will be a mid-range device and could be priced between $700 and $800. The tech giant sold 29 million units of iPhone in the last quarter, with the iPhone X topping the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus as the most popular unit Apple sold during that period.

For the midrange model, Kuo's latest investor note (via 9to5Mac) describes an aluminum-framed iPhone with a 6.1-inch LCD screen, allegedly lacking 3D Touch capabilities.

The fact that Apple is ready to kill its iPhone X is something worth pondering over. Aside from a handful of analyst estimates, we don't know how many iPhone Xs Apple has sold. It is trusted that by the center of the year 2018, 62 million iPhone X units would be sold in the whole world, while the organization had focused to offer 80 million iPhone X.

While new technologies, such as Face ID and bezel-less displays, help to justify the US$999 price tag and maintain competitiveness. These models are all expected to feature Apple's notched design and TrueDepth camera.

Indeed, the iPhone X will spawn not one but two high-end models, it's believed.
